San Felipe to Bahia Kino

Since we are experiencing the slowest internet ever (in Mexico) !
We will have to settle for only one picture!
We drove from San Felipe to Purto Penasco then to Bahia Kino!
Beside of $20 given to local cop in Hermosillo as a a donation to his family everything went fine!
The weather is perfect, people and food are great!
We are going south, bound for Los Mochis and Copper canyon!

First week in Mexico

Great week , but did not go according to plan!
We were supposed to drive down Baja to take a ferry to Mainland but mother nature got in the way!
After waiting 4 days in Ensenada enjoying Suzy and Benny and new Canadian Friends in Ensenada we decided to go to Guyamas by roads and avoid going down on Baja!(and ferry)(5 bridges were washed out and roads were in really bad shape)
We crossed the peninsula east on very bad roads (lost our hubcaps) and ended up in San Felipe where we are enjoying great weather!
The place is magic and we realized how much we missed it since we have not been around for 15 years!
We are starting to get into the slow moving lifestyle with a lot of fun and not doing much!
Friday we will drive around the sea of Cortez to Bahia Kino first then head south to Guayamas and Los Mochis!

Yipee!! We got to see one my most favorite people in the whole world! She just drinks up life from sunrise to sundown and its highly contagious!! We had a blast with my dear friend, Suzie Williamson!! She made us laugh for 2 days straight and we smile to think of her right now!! We also got to meet some of the people that are the backbone of her business, Benny and Jaime and his lovely family. We all hung out and all had the pleasure to meet our new friends, George and JoAnn who live in Victoria Island. They are big travelers and know Mexico very well. They were a lot of fun to hang out with!! We have all parted ways for now and are all on separate adventures but will meet again!!

Baja status

The west coast storm from last week washed out all the roads and bridges in Baja Mexico!
We have been chilling and eating tacos for 3 days in our beautifull camping spot in Ensenada!
Tomorrow we will try to move one way or the other but we may have to get back to USA and re enter Mexico from Arizona!

Leaving "sunny" California

After almost a month of good times with family and friends we are back on the road and on our way to Mexico!
It is great to be on the road again!
From Carol
We couldn't ask for a better reception when we arrived in California!! What fun we had with family who all have such a zest for life and can put celebration into each and every day! Jim and Linda let us spread our wings and set down some roots for a while. We cooked lots of fun meals and just hung out together. Jim and Linda hosted a welcome home potluck party for us. Thank you so much!! The kids had a blast with their cousins Niki and Carli playing hide and seek, man hunt, murder in the dark and many other fun things!! Aunt Annie, Aunt Jannie, Uncle Ronnie, Courtney and Katie organized a day of holidays for the boys starting with a holiday brunch followed by an egg hunt full of treasures, then a Christmas celebration (the tree was left up and lit for the occasion!) a break in the middle to walk on the beach, then a costume contest and trick or treating and finally an evening celebrating everyone's birthdays! What a fun idea!! We will never forget it! Needless to say we were all exhausted at the end of our big holiday! The boys and their cousins had a great evening with Uncle Tommy going to see "Avatar" and eating lots of popcorn!! Uncle Tommy also treated us to a "Pizza Bar" at his magnificent hacienda! Aunt Jannie and Uncle David put on a rockin baby shower for Natalie where we all attended! The food, drink and company was top notch!! Finally, we all got to see Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Annie's new groovy pad! Its going to be the ultimate party place and a place to just feel good!! We managed to catch up a bit on all fronts (including paperwork!) and to leave with a clean slate, new wheels, a change of clothes and the desire to continue learning!!

A week end at JMB (very dangerous!)

Today was a very fun day! Went and spent a day with friend Jean Michel Bayle (JMB)and friend PC!
First a morning ride in the mountains surrounding his area...technical and fun riding CRF 250's and very cold.....our hight was 30 degrees F. Crashed twice but it was so much fun! thanks Jean Mi! then after lunch,JMB decided to teach us how to ride a car on 2 wheels! We spent all afternoon learning the tricks and felt like we were in a Nitro circus show....
Check first video below (the lowest one) then the second and be ready for a laugh! It is me learning the ropes...........JMB was a king and PC much better than me but I got the best laugh!
